Producer Jake Benson began his musical career learning to play piano at age four, and by the time he reached the age of fifteen Benson was spinning records at raves, fusing together his two main influences of new age piano and dance. Becoming completely immersed in the trance music scene developing in the mid 90’s, Jake purchased his first synthesizer workstation and began programming his own original progressive dance and trance tracks infused with the keyboard sound he had developed over the years. In 2005 Jake Benson switched from synthesizers to software, expanding his capabilities without the confines of hardware.
Moving to Los Angeles, CA from Seattle after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Washington, Benson began concentrating on making music his career. His original track Summer Heat caught the attention of up and coming Indian recording artist Mona Chatterjee at the Billboard Dance Music Summit in Las Vegas. Chatterjee commissioned Benson to produce two mixes of her single In Your Eyes, as part of Chatterjee’s EP titled Not Just A Princess, with additional mixes by Mike Rizzo, One 61st Street, DJ Scotty K and the Klubjumpers.
Benson’s 2007 projects include the recently released Pack Your Bags (Jake Benson Club Mix) from Leana curently shooting up the Billboard Dance charts, remixes of Platinum recording artist Billie Myers’ Top 10 Billboard dance hit Just Sex, a vocal progressive house mix of Alyson's Top 10 Billboard dance track Forever, and Monique Marissa’s Wo Sind Sie (Jake's Heartache Mix). Jake Benson’s latest project is as a co-producer and remixer on Debby Holiday’s Piece Of My Love released in August, 2007, on *Nebula 9 / Tango Blues Entertainment. Piece Of My Love was Holiday’s fourth Top 20 Dance song in a row, and has been chosen for an upcoming episode of Showtime’s hit program The L Word. Jake’s upcoming releases include Dare To Dream by Viola Wills (Harlequin) and If You Fall by Ad Finem (Harlequin).
