DJ Felicia Villani

Felicia Villani is a multi-talented DJ and musician known for her on-stage energy and vivacious mixing style with over 20 years experience. She joined the DJ ranks in Colorado during the mid 80’s, and after spinning in numerous mid-west nightclubs, Felicia moved to Hollywood. In the 90’s she carved her place into the Los Angeles/ West Hollywood deep house and tribal music movement. Under the name “DJ Diva”, she took up residency at mainstream & underground clubs such as Hollywood’s notorious Club Maxx.
Felicia’s club bookings include her current monthly residencies at Faces in Sacramento and Pupular at Here Lounge in West Hollywood, CA. Past residencies include Micky’s in West Hollywood, Club Montage in San Diego, plus lengthy residencies at Heaven and Hunters in Palm Springs. She has spun for a number of special events in recent years including her recent performance at the Valley of the Dolls event in Dallas this Memorial Weekend, Reflex After-hours in Hollywood, CA, multiple Los Angeles Pride events, Dinah Shore events in Palm Springs, held residency at DeDe’s on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, played United Pride’s 15,000+ person Night at the Dome, plus Felicia performed at Kurfew in Las Vegas and the White Party Welcome event.
Felicia is no stranger to the airwaves. In January 2006 she was featured in an hour long special on San Francisco's Energy 92.7 radio show the Massive Mix. This was her second feature following a well-received June 2005 production. Felicia's first appearance marked her as the second female DJ to be invited on to the Bay area's popular circuit broadcast, hosted by DJ Matthew Baker & Nikita. Felicia's compilations have been featured on webcast Live 365 and Circuitmix Web Radio. In 2003, Felicia was a Top 5 finalist in the Bacardi DJ U.S.A. contest with her remix track Element Fire.

Felicia is also known as a recording artist working with several bands over the years. After an overseas concert tour of Japan, Korea, the Phillipines, British Indian Ocean territories and Australia as lead vocalist/guitarist with the Colorado-based band, Surrender Dorothy, she made the move to southern California. In Hollywood, Felicia worked as a singles buyer and Billboard Magazine reporter for Wherehouse Records on Sunset. She also hit the Los Angeles music scene as lead guitarist and co-vocalist for the group Mix, and co-wrote and recorded on the Laker Girls L.A. Jammin’ full-length video soundtrack. She also joined the staff at Macy Lipman, marketing & promoting for record labels including CBS, Sony, Virgin, Elektra, and Paisley Park. After various recording and live band endeavors, Felicia co-founded the band Soul Instinct. She became a studio regular and recorded under producer Gloria Jones. (Gloria is regarded as a music industry icon, known for her Motown roots, her original recording of Tainted Love, as well as for writing and producing hits for major label artists). Under Jones’ label, Felicia’s lead guitar, vocals, and musical arrangements were featured on various artists recordings including the compilation album Griots 1-Tales of the City featuring artists such as Pat Hodges, and Soul Instinct’s dance single Might as Well Party on the Asha record label. |
